Covering The Gaps In Medicare
Since Medicare only covers a portion of medical expenses, it may be necessary to obtain additional coverage to help cover the "gaps" or co-insurance payments. Listed below are some of the most commonly used options available to the average consumer.
Original Medicare With Part D Coverage: If you choose this option you will have to pay a percentage of all of your medical bills in the form of deductibles and co-insurance. You will also want to remember that with Original Medicare there is No Cap on your out of pocket expenses.
Medicare Advantage Plans: These plans have become a very popular option for Seniors and the disabled. Advantage plans offer lower, predictable co-pays and most plans have an annual Out of Pocket Maximum which puts a cap on how much you will have to pay for medical expenses each year. Many Advantage plans include Part D coverage and have much lower premiums than traditional Medicare Supplement Plans. More Details....
